TRADITION MEETS INNOVATION

Reinventing forging through induction

Our manifesto

Since the dawn of time, volcanoes have fascinated mankind, through their magic, their power, and their beauty. A force that only the gods could master. Inspired by this creative fire, blacksmiths have harnessed it for thousands of years: to melt, strike, and create; to shape metals to the rhythm of the hammer.

Today, the gestures remain the same. But forging has changed with E-TTNA and E-KKLA. These innovative induction furnaces are easy to use, offer unmatched power, and are completely safe. Designed for both craftspeople and apprentices, they modernize the trade while preserving traditional know-how. Thanks to them, creative blacksmiths are turning their talent into a tradition for the future.

A NEW CHAPTER IN FORGING

Discover the history of induction

Why switch to induction?

Behind induction lies more than just a new technology. It represents a different way of experiencing and practicing the craft of blacksmithing, while preserving everything that makes it so rich: the craft, mastery of the material, and traditional know-how.

For generations, heating metal has required time, energy, and constant attention. Today, induction makes it possible to rethink this essential stage of forging: heating faster, more precisely, and only when necessary. This gives the blacksmith more time to focus on what really matters: working the material, creating, producing, and passing on their expertise.

But the change is not simply about saving a few minutes. Less heat in the workshop, less waiting time, better-controlled energy consumption, greater comfort, and more consistent heating: induction brings tangible changes to everyday work without compromising the identity of the craft.

Time, energy, well-being, creativity, simplicity: discover in five chapters how induction can transform forging and support craftspeople in adopting new practices, without giving up the techniques, standards, and authenticity that define their craft.

Chapter 1 – Time, the treasure rediscovered

From 60 minutes to 10 minutes

Once upon a time, artisans spent 60 minutes heating a piece with charcoal… until they discovered induction. In just 10 minutes, the same piece is ready, with no preparation and no waiting.

The result? the induction forge pays for itself within one year. As our client, owner of the 24kW forge, Pierre Reverdy, Master of Art and Master Cutler, says: “It’s the hours that count. And the hours that cost.”

No more wasted hours: induction makes every minute productive.

Chapter 2 – Energy, a silent revolution

Towards a more efficient, lower-carbon forge

Imagine: 4 tonnes of charcoal per year, at €400 per tonne, plus taxes and supply issues. Then, one day, everything changes. €100 per month in electricity, half of which goes toward the subscription. A bill that melts away like snow in the sun.

And CO₂? 2.9 kg per day compared to 100 kg with charcoal. The planet can breathe easier. So can your wallet.

Chapter 3 – Health, an unexpected gift

A cleaner forge, a healthier craft

“My doctor told me to stop forging.” Michel Reibel from the Forge de Lion nearly lost everything because of the toxic fumes from charcoal. Then induction came along: no more smoke, no more risk of respiratory tract cancer. Just clean heating, and a workshop where you can finally breathe.

And the vibrations? Reduced. The fatigue? Gone. “You can break the work into sections,” says Master of Art and Master Cutler Pierre Reverdy. “And that changes everything.”

Chapter 4 – Induction, a passport to innovation

Induction opens up a world of possibilities

  • Melting, brazing, hot welding: techniques once reserved for experts.
  • Damascus steel, hardware, one-of-a-kind pieces: unmatched precision and localized heating that unlocks creativity.
  • “I can do whatever I want,” enthuses Armand Dufresne, Couteaux Caprice. “Even in a small workshop, without having to ventilate constantly.”

And the icing on the cake? No flames, no fuel storage, complete mobility. “You no longer dare leave the workshop with charcoal,” admits one craftsman. “With induction, you can work wherever you want.”

Chapter 5 – Technology at the service of the craftsperson

A technology that is easy to master

At IS Forge, we don’t just make machines. We create tools designed with you in mind:

  • On/off foot pedal: your hands remain free, giving you complete control.
  • Smart LEDs: three colors to guide your heating, like a beacon in the night.
  • Simplified settings: two rotary knobs, designed to be used even while wearing gloves.
  • European standards: safety and durability guaranteed.

“It’s like going from an old car to a Tesla,” sums up one customer. “Except this time, it’s your craft that accelerates.”

Epilogue – And you, what story will you write?

Forge the future yourself

Induction is the perfect combination of tradition and innovation. A technology that protects your health, boosts your productivity, and unleashes your creativity.

“Induction means freedom. The freedom to work better, faster, and in good health.”

APPLICATIONS

Induction for a wide range of forging
and metalworking applications

Forging, stamping, riveting, heat treatment, melting or brazing: induction heating is suitable for a wide range of operations. Our induction forges, designed for a broad range of applications, are ideally suited to the requirements of blacksmithing and metalworking workshops.

Forging

Hot deformation of bars, tubes and profiles (steel, stainless steel, aluminium) to produce custom-made parts such as grilles, railings and decorative elements.

Hardening and tempering

Heat treatments designed to improve the durability and strength of your parts, such as knives and tools.

Hot welding

Joining without adding filler material for metal structures, guardrails or frameworks, with strong and aesthetically pleasing joints.

Metal melting

Melting brass, steel, bronze or aluminium in crucibles, for example 10 kg of brass in 30 minutes, for the production of cast parts or decorative elements.

Localized heating

Targeted repairs or
modifications on existing parts, such as repairing old grilles or adjusting complex assemblies.

Preheating before machining

Facilitates the machining of thick or difficult-to-machine parts, such as metal plates and heavy profiles.
